  • Blank or suspect check
  • Check number could not be read
  • Check date could not be read
  • Front signature was not detected or is missing

We recommend that you write legibly on the check and make sure that you handwrite in the spaces allocated.

  • Checks that have not been previously endorsed by a financial institution (a bank, savings and loan, or a credit union) and are either “substitute checks” or Image Replacement Documents (“IRD”) that purport to be substitute checks, without credit union’s prior written consent;
  • Checks that are drawn on financial institutions that are located outside of the United States or Territories of the United States;

You can print a receipt that includes a deposit receipt confirmation number and a copy of the check deposited.

What do I do with the scanned check after depositing it?
Retain your eDeposited check in a secure location until you have confirmed your deposit has cleared your account. After confirmation, you may void the check. We recommend that you retain the check for 90 days for your records and destroy it after that time.

What are the system requirements to use eDeposit?

  • Windows 2000®, Windows XP® with Service Pack 2, Windows Vista™ or MAC OS X
  • Internet Explorer® 6 (with security set to medium), Internet Explorer® 7 (with security set to medium high), Firefox 2.0 and up, Safari 3.1 and up
  • Broadband (at least basic DSL or cable)
  • TWAIN compliant document scanner

Why are there more than one scanner driver loaded in the drop down menu in eDeposit?
The application downloads all scanner drivers available on your PC and displays them in the drop down menu.

Why does the front of the check scan with extra space and needs to be cropped?

The imaging process depends on the scanner. Some scanners scan the check with extra space and some with no space around the check.

We recommend that you place four black dots (the size of the pencil eraser) in the four corners of the check before scanning the check. This will help the scanner determine the outline of the check so that you will not have to crop extra space.

Will I have to download anything to use eDeposit?

If you would like to use the built-in scanning software within eDeposit, you will need to download Active X – an application that will enable eDeposit to communicate with your scanner.

How do I know where to download Active X from?

The first time you use eDeposit, you will notice a yellow Information Bar at the top of your Internet Explorer browser window. You will be prompted to install an Active X control called EZTwainX by Dosadi.

Is it safe to download Active X?
Any Internet control, e.g. Active X, that accesses devices on the user's machine poses a potential security thread. eDeposit uses signed controls which verify the authenticity of the Active X and provide instructions as to what to expect.

What if I don’t want to download Active X?

You can simply use your own scanner to scan and save your checks and then simply upload them into eDeposit.

Are there any requirements if I want to use my own scanner to scan and upload the check?

Yes. Your check must:

  • Be in grayscale
  • Be saved as jpg
  • Have a resolution of 200 dpi or higher
  • Be smaller than 1 MB
